Stir, Cambridge
There was a time when every time Roxy and I drove past this place on the way to rowing we would say 'Ohhhh that looks so nice we have to go there!'. And then we started and haven't looked back. Not in central Cambridge, I discovered this cafe because its so close to the boat club. If you are ever in Chesterton you must go, whether for a coffee or their all day brunch.
So, after rowing training and before coaching Rox, Flurina and I went to grab some brunch.
Full of yummy mummies and families, blackboards cover the walls showing classes available.
Another board covers the back wall acting as the menu.
Wonderfully chaotic with everything feeling a bit homemade, just how I like it!
Roxy perusing the menu, one of her favorite activities.
The veggie brioche stack and poached eggs with relish.
Look at those eggs!
My salmon on rye which was absolutely delicious (and it had pickles on it which in my opinion much more things should!)
Roxy's beautiful orange and cardamom hot chocolate which tasted like a molten Terry's Chocolate Orange.
One of the best things about Stir is that they've just opened a bakery next door!
Don't mind if I do!
Flurina had to leave so we got the chocolate cupcake and cinnamon swirl and shared.
Can you think of any better way to spend a lunchtime?
