Marylebone High Street

When I was younger I used to go and stay with my aunt Frances in the big smoke.  We would go shopping on the King's Road, go for walks or to galleries and just generally have a great time. Since she's moved out into the sticks herself, we haven't had a fun day on the town in ages.

So, last Monday we decided it was high time we had a fun day out.  We met in King's Cross before heading down to Marylebone High Street.  I think it's one of the most underrated shopping streets in London, much less crowded than Oxford or Regent Street, with much nicer shops.

Our first stop was the Conran shop, full of hidden treasures.

After we spent far too long and far too much money in the Conran shop, we headed on. After a little deviation into Agnes B, one of Frances' favorites, we headed to Opso, a Greek restaurant just off the Marylebone High Street.

We shared a selection of bits...

Tzatziki

Koulouri Briam

Baked feta

After lunch we headed down to Daunt books, one of my new favorite places.

After some more mooching around, Frances had to go home. I later met up with Mum and we went to see An American in Paris, which is amazing. You have to see it if you haven't. My old teacher Miss Knights (Chloe!) recommended it and it really was incredible with so much dancing unlike any other musical I've seen.
