Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

When I'm craving cookies, which let's face it is pretty much always, these are what I make. Chewy, crumbly, chocolaty, it's everything you want in a cookie and more.

Ingredients
125g salted butter
100g soft brown sugar
75g caster sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
150g plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
100g dark chocolate

Preheat your oven to 180C and cover a couple of baking sheets with paper (baking paper obviously not normal paper, I can't imagine that would go well!)

First, chop your butter into chunks and melt it over a low heat. Whilst this is happening, measure your two types of sugar into the same bowl. Once the butter is melted add it to the sugar and mix together.

Of course if you don't mix it with your own personalized wooden spoon they won't taste nearly as good.

Leave your sugar mixture to cool for a minute and measure your flour and baking power in a separate bowl.

Once the sugar and butter has cooled add the egg and vanilla extract.

Now you'll need to chop up your chocolate. If any falls off the board and into your mouth I won't judge you.

Add the egg and sugar mixture to the flour and mix it together. Then add you chocolate.

Use a tablespoon and a teaspoon to make round cookie shaped blobs on a tray.

In my oven they are perfect after 9 minuets but they could be anywhere between 8-10mins so keep checking them.

Try and wait until they're not burn-your-mouth hot before eating them, but again no judgement here. Enjoy with a glass of cold milk, sandwiching some vanilla ice cream, or straight from the tin at 2am when you get back from a night out.
