Beauty Beyond Size
Beauty beyond size is something that’s slowly and surely becoming
a more accepted thing. It’s no longer
the true that you have to be a slim Victoria Secret like goddess in order to be considered beautiful. Ok
maybe it is, but it is changing.
The first time I heard someone use the term beauty beyond size
it was Ashley Graham. If you haven’t heard of her, have a google (watch her Ted talk here). She is an
absolute boss woman, ‘plus size’ model and body activist. And she’s essentially teaching young girls that healthy looks different on different people and that
beauty comes from within. In our
Instagram-centric world the image has more power than ever. And we are all
guilty of judging ourselves, and others, by looks. But the thing is, looks fade.
And then what? If you spend a life focusing on how you look you’ll be missing
out of the important things. So please,
do things that make you happy. Do sports even if it makes you red and sweaty because of how
good it makes you feel. Go on adventures and don’t post the photos. Push
yourself to learn something new. Let’s
all try a bit harder to develop the way we are and not the way we look. This, I
think, might be the secret to beauty beyond size.
